John Miller, PCC-S
Director of New Beginnings River Tree / Counselor
I first began working for the Christian Children's Home of Ohio in 1993-1995 as a residential therapist while completing seminary training to receive my Masters in Pastoral Counseling. I then went to work for the Mennonite Church in several states as a youth pastor, music minister, and associate pastor. I am an ordained minister in the Christian Church where I was a music minister while working for New Beginnings as well. I returned to New Beginnings as a counselor around 2005.
My mission is to bring people before God for healing. My present focus is on pastoral counseling and marriage/couples counseling and developing a team of counselors to effectively bring healing to those who come to us. I have discovered gifts in empowering men to pass through anger, enhance communication, engage in problem solving/conflict resolution, increase self-esteem and be more effective spouses, boyfriends, and fathers.

Rebecca L. Ryder, NCC, PCC
After a previous career in education, I returned to school to pursue a masters degree in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2006. Following my experience as well as passion, I have utilized my counseling gifts to focus primarily on children and adolescents and on providing support to their families. Since 2008, I have worked in a school for kids with emotional difficulties who struggle to maintain emotional and behavioral regulation. I have provided on-site support for these students through Group Therapy, Individual counseling, classroom behavioral coaching and support, staff education, coordination with other service providers, and communication with family members. In 2011 I joined the counseling team at New Beginnings River Tree as an outpatient counselor.
My passion is helping children, adolescents, and families work through emotional, behavioral, developmental, traumatic, and relationship issues in order to improve their functional skills and increase their ability to use their gifts and talents to serve God and others through positive self-image and positive communication. It is a privilege to help open doors for others to seek healing from God. |
