Christian Children's Home of Ohio recognized the need to expand its services to address all levels of care. The continuum of care, ranging from out patient therapy to residential treatment, should also offer "the least restrictive most intensive."
In other words, home-based treatment and wrap around services should be used as a preventative measure to stop the escalation of need for placement or as a bridge to bring youth back into their home environments from placement.
New Beginnings at CityHill offers services for youth and their families developed out of a systemic home-based model. A youth's strengths, DSM IV diagnosis, presenting concerns, system involvement, family dynamics and desired outcomes are used to determine level of service. He or she may have any combination of the following services based on need:
- Pharmacological Management
- Out patient therapy
- CPST (Case-management services for youth)
- Home-based therapy
- Intensive Home-based services
- Community Wrap Around
- Parent Education
Each youth's treatment team ensures that it will do whatever it takes to reduce risk, accentuate strengths, promote the family unit, empower effective parenting, coordinate community systems, utilize natural supports, emphasize
