Challenge course elements involve interacting and learning with fellow team members in a fun and supportive atmosphere. The goal of experiential learning is to help individuals step out of their comfort zones. Participants work together on tasks that challenge imagination and abilities. All activities are sequenced to promote personal and group development.
The group initiatives and low course elements are solved using the resources of the group. The cooperation, decision making, and commitment required for team success are related to working situations in every day life. Enhanced group dynamics, leadership training, and social cohesion are potential benefits of Poplar Ridge Adventures.
The high elements provide individual opportunities for personal achievement by overcoming basic fears and illuminating potential for self-development. The high course activites range from 15-50 feet above the ground where safety-certified staff members use rock climbing equipment to teach strategies and provide rope support for all climbers.
"....Out here you've got to depend on each other - that's what Poplar Ridge Adventures is all about - learning to encourage each other, to work together."
-Randy Steiner, Director
