What is the cost? How long does it last?
Our one-on-one sessions are taught by our Certified PATH International Instructor. Each sessions ranges from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the needs of the client. On average we spend 15-20 minutes on grooming and tacking, and the rest in the arena. Equine Assisted Therapy is currently not covered under insurance and is all out of pocket pay. There are some avenues we can help you to research in order to get financial assistance. Each session is $45/session.
Who do you serve?
Our clients range from 2-92 years of age! We have riders with multiple diagnoses and we look forward to working with each one! Our independent riders have plenty of challenging horses to choose from. If a rider needs extra support, we have a long list of volunteers ready to assist where needed, and many patient horses to make their therapy session a successful one!
What do I wear?
Please come dressed in proper shoes/boots. Something with a heel on it is best in order to have proper footing in the stirrup. NO flips flops or sandals are permitted around the horses. Please remember to wear long pants when necessary to avoid leg rubs from the saddle. Although the indoor arena is heated, cold weather attire is necessary in the elements heading to the barn. Please make sure that the pictures or verbiage on your clothes is not offensive to others. Helmets are required to ride our horses! For smaller heads, acceptations will be made if you would like to bring a helmet from home.
Where are you located?
We are located on the Christian Children’s Home of Ohio Campus on 2685 Armstrong Rd. in Wooster Ohio. Our classes take place in our heated indoor arena during fall and winter seasons, fenced outdoor arena, and on the trails of our beautiful campus!
