While we’re enjoying God’s gift of beautiful autumn colors, it’s also a reminder that the holiday season is just around the corner. Planning for Christmas starts early at CCHO as we organize presents for more than 100 children served in our residential center and community counseling program.
The Christmas Wish List project is an opportunity to show love in a tangible way to children who are working hard to overcome challenging circumstances. Surrounding these kiddos with gifts suited just for their unique hearts helps them experience their true worth in Christ.
We rely on the kindness and generosity of volunteers to make Christmas magical and meaningful for our youth. We are looking for individuals, groups, churches and businesses to get involved by sponsoring wish lists for boys and girls ages 6 to 18. You may choose to shop as a family or you may help coordinate group efforts at your church or organization.
A child’s wish list includes five items they have specifically requested ranging in price from $25-50 each. Need-based items, such as clothing, winter gear, or hygiene items, may also be on the list. You’ll be given the child’s favorite color and hobbies, along with clothing sizes to help guide your gift selection. We ask donors to contribute at least three gifts per child as you are the only one providing presents for that child.
Wish lists will be available by Monday, November 1, but your commitment is requested as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. Deliver unwrapped gifts to our main campus at 2685 Armstrong Road in Wooster by Friday, December 3. Please coordinate gift drop off in advance.
