Thank you for being a CHAMPION with the YOUNG GIRLS COTTAGE!
IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ
As of June 1, 2019, your monthly cottage update will be emailed to you, in its entirety, at the email address you provided when you signed up to become a Campus Champion. There will no longer be a need to log into this Campus Champions portal, and this page will not be updated moving forward. Instead, you will receive information about your cottage, new residents, prayer requests and everything else you’re used to seeing here, only in your inbox now instead of on our website.
If you have any questions about this change, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of these young residents!
It was another rough month in the Young Girls cottage. The girls continued to struggle with bullying and not following directions, mainly in the evenings. We are hopeful that the future is going to be better.
We had a new friend join us right at the end of March after the update was distributed. Josie, one of our older girls, was first taken from her biological mother’s home due to deplorable living conditions and marijuana being found in the home. She went to foster homes and was making progress, but she continued to have suicidal ideation, so she came to CCHO.
We also had a new young friend join us this month named Celia. She was living with her biological mother and siblings when her mom was hospitalized for mental health concerns. She went to live with her grandparents and a foster home, but after the county thought Celia’s needs weren’t being met in the foster home, she was referred to CCHO.
Please pray for Aubrey as she is struggling greatly with depression and suicidal and homicidal thoughts. Pray that a new placement would open up soon who is willing and able to provide the additional level of support that she needs.
Pray for Alice as she found out this month that her grandparents are not willing to take her back into their home.
Pray for Julia as she continues to struggle and will be leaving us shortly.
Pray for Josie as she is struggling to develop her relationship with her biological mother and she is having a hard time managing her emotions.
Events & More
In April, we took the girls swimming, to SkateLand, to the park, and allowance shopping. In the month of May, we will take the girls swimming at the YMCA, go to Acres of Fun, visit the park and Oh-Yo, and enjoy allowance shopping. Girls who attend these privilege-level outings have earned the ability to go by managing their behaviors well.
GET TO KNOW YOUR COTTAGE
As a Campus Champion, you can help make the kids in your cottage feel extra special on their birthdays by mailing birthday cards to the CCHO campus or simply filling out the form to the right.
If you would like to send birthday cards, here are some guidelines:
- Please do NOT write the name of the child directly on the card. You can write an encouraging message in the card but because we use an alias for each of the children in our cottages to protect their identity and maintain state regulations, we will write their actual name on the card for you before delivering it to the birthday girl. Simply include a slip of paper inside your card with the name/alias of the child it is intended for and we will take care of the rest!
- Cards should be mailed to:
2685 Armstrong Road
Wooster, OH 44691
ATTN: Campus Champions
- Please note: All cards will be screened to ensure they are appropriate.
The following girls will be celebrating birthdays soon. Thank you for letting them know just how special their big day is!
Send Your Cottage a Note!
Would you like to offer a word of encouragement, a prayer or just a quick hello to the girls in your cottage? Great! Simply fill out the form below and indicate in the body if you want it to go to a specific kiddo or to the whole cottage.
Please note: All messages will be screened by our residential staff to ensure safety and appropriateness before being delivered to the residents.
THANK YOU FOR MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COTTAGE!
