We have been certified as a Best Christian Workplace for 2018! Working at our Family of Ministries – Christian Children’s Home of Ohio, Encompass Christian Counseling, Encourage Foster Care & Adoption, and Thrive Trauma Recovery – is exciting, challenging and rewarding. Every day, our employees put their faith in action through our core values of Relentless Commitment, Selflessness and Kindness, fulfilling our mission of “helping people to experience their worth in Christ”.
What do current employees say about working for our Family of Ministries?
Here are some of the comments we received from staff during our most recent (January 2018) Best Christian Workplaces survey:
“…there is a great sense of camaraderie.”
“CCHO has an atmosphere of love and grace… able to balance the importance of client growth and helping to keep staff from burnout.”
“CCHO is a great place to work because of the positive environment, and my co-workers have become some of my closest friends… we make a great team. We have a great supervisor and I feel supported and valued.”
“I love the humility of my supervisors and the value they place on all employees. I love that my opinion is valued, and I am not afraid to tell my supervisors anything…”
“The consistent focus on honoring Christ and helping others experience their worth in Him… the great people that we work with (team mentality) and the sense of feeling accepted and valued by those I work with… I also love the focus on leadership and personal development.”
“My first – and continual – impression is that ‘Christian’ is not just a word added to our name, but an identity that the employees and leadership here TRULY find important and carry out on a day-to-day basis. We are human and make mistakes, but the ways with which we handle both the joys and trials of life, to me are handled in a Christ-like manner.”
What can candidates expect of the hiring process?
Candidate information is reviewed by Human Resources and hiring managers to ensure that the minimum qualifications of education and experience are met. Qualifying candidates will be contacted to schedule telephone interviews with a member of the HR team, and those who successfully navigate the HR interview will be forwarded to the hiring manager for additional interviews/conversation, likely with several staff members.
To ensure the safety of all clients in our care, references checks, fingerprinting/criminal record checks and drug screenings will be completed on all successful candidates. In addition, select positions require a pre-employment physical to ensure that the candidate is able to successfully perform the physical aspects of the job.
