Twelve-year-old Izabel needs your help. Izabel has experienced fear and abuse throughout her childhood. So much fighting. She hasn’t known the security and love of family. Izabel has never felt wanted. She tries to stay positive but breaks down every day.

For kids like Izabel who come from abusive and neglectful homes, school can be a scary and discouraging experience too. Izabel hasn’t felt understood by her teachers. She’s angry and frustrated when she doesn’t understand her homework. She feels alone without having someone at home to help her.

You can change her story. You can give Izabel a fresh start in a safe classroom that will meet her unique trauma needs.

Your help is needed quickly as classes start August 18. With your gift of $15 per week, you can provide Izabel and kids like her with treatment-level education surrounded by staff that understand her challenges. You’ll ensure that she has structure, guidance and reassurance to build up her confidence and skills.

Izabel has been told that she’s worthless at home. She carries this brokenness to school. Her intense emotions of sadness and anger are difficult to manage. She has a hard time believing in herself. She struggles to make friends and get along with other students.

Your gift of $15 can help Izabel feel supported and excited to learn! To know that she is worthy of being helped. To know that there are adults who believe she can succeed and will be there for her along the way.

You can make school a happy place again for hurting kids like Izabel. You can close the gap in her learning. An education that’s trauma informed can help shape her future in a positive way.

Give one child a week of safe, supportive education that meets her unique trauma needs.

Christian Children's Home of Ohio (CCHO) is a local nonprofit organization that has provided opportunities for donors like you to help abused and neglected children for more than 50 years. Based in Wooster, OH and serving all of Ohio – including Wayne County, Summit County, Stark County, Cuyahoga County, Franklin County and the surrounding areas – CCHO is a safe place for kids who have suffered extreme forms of physical abuse, sexual abuse and emotional abuse, as well as survivors of sex trafficking. Initially licensed as a foster care/group home for children, CCHO now has five cottages on its campus that are home to as many as 46 kids, ages 6-17, who have often been abused by parents or other people they trust. During their time with this faith-based charity in Ohio, children learn the tools they need to overcome the trauma they've experienced through various forms of therapeutic approaches (including recreational therapy, art therapy and equine therapy) as well as social, spiritual and educational opportunities designed to aid the child with the healing process, model for them how a healthy family functions, develop coping and life skills, and introduce them to Jesus Christ.

You can help Izabel feel supported and excited to learn!
