The 2026 Heart for the Home Benefit & Auction was a record-breaking success, raising over $60,000! Nearly 250 supporters gathered on Saturday, March 21, at Greystone Event Center in Wooster, Ohio, to champion the mission of Christian Children’s Home of Ohio and its family of ministries.
The evening featured an exciting auction with more than 120 bundles, a delicious dinner, and powerful stories of life change and redemption from across our ministries.
Guests heard a moving testimony from a former CCHO resident, an inspiring story from an Encourage foster and adoptive mom, and a meaningful highlight of our Encompass school-based services.
These testimonies offered just a glimpse of the incredible work God is doing through our family of ministries—made possible by the faithful support and generosity of our donors, partners, and friends.
We were proud to announce The Christ Foundation as the 2026 Heart for the Home award winner!
Kevin Hewitt, CCHO President & CEO shares, "The first time I met Patricia Moore, I was amazed by the passion she showed for kids from hard places. I think if she could have, she would have opened her home up and invited all the kids to come live with her. Her effervescent personality draws you to her and her love for the Gospel is evident in all she does. Her husband, Jerry, was an outstanding businessman with a heart of gold and the hope of Christ. Put them both together and you get The Christ Foundation, now led by one of their beloved protégés, Lewis Yoder. Lewis and the Board of Directors have blessed ministries across the country and beyond who are helping kids and adults through the trauma they have experienced.
CCHO has been blessed by their amazing generosity for decades and it is time for us to celebrate all that God has done through these extraordinary people. The Christ Foundation is the embodiment of years of passionately following Christ!"
