One Heart Stables
Since opening in 1995, One Heart Stables has been utilized by the youth served in the Children’s Residential Center at CCHO. These children have experienced extreme abuse and neglect, and that trauma often makes it difficult for them to connect with others or even deal with the demands of everyday life. One Heart Stables therapy horses give CCHO residents a chance to engage in an honest, non-judgmental relationship, and the skills learned in developing a relationship with a horse then can be easily translated to developing relationships with people. With each therapeutic session, we strive for our clients to gain self-confidence, improve their mental and physical capabilities, and engage in social relationships with staff and volunteers.
Our equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) program has expanded to serve children and adults in the general public as an outpatient mental health service of Encompass Christian Counseling. Learn more about psychotherapy incorporating horses and our compassionate licensed staff today.

How it works
You must call ahead to place your order and schedule a pick-up time Monday-Thursday between 8am and 6pm. Pull up to the composting bays next to the red barn and our staff will load the product into your trunk or truck. You do not have to bring your own container, but we request that you remain in your vehicle.
Compost is available year-round. For more information and to schedule a pick-up, contact McKenna Marody at 810-360-5492.
