Faith's life had been a nightmare. At just thirteen, she had endured years of physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her biological parents. She grew up believing she didn’t matter, convinced she had no worth.
Safety was something Faith had never known. Trust felt impossible. The pain became so overwhelming that Faith began self‑harming and battling suicidal thoughts.
You made sure that Faith was safe and cared for. Because of you, she was able to finally be a kid and focus on herself. You have provided her with an environment where healing could begin, where she learned that her life has value and where she discovered her true worth in Christ.

Faith couldn’t form healthy relationships, and her emotions often felt too big to manage. Anxiety and guilt weighed heavily on her. When fear or frustration hit, she turned to self‑harm because she didn’t know any other way to cope.
But because of you, Faith processed her deepest traumas. She learned to take sensory breaks when she felt overwhelmed. She discovered healthy coping skills. Her confidence grew. Her self‑esteem strengthened. And for the first time, she felt what safety truly meant.
Every Wednesday during devotionals, Faith asked for the same prayer: “Can you pray that God would give me a family?” Then one week, she stopped asking. When asked why, she whispered that no one wanted her, so she was done asking God. But God was still working.
Recently, Faith moved into a new home with a former staff member who already knows her, loves her, and whom she trusts — a family of her very own.
PS: If you’re inspired by Faith's story and would like to do even more, you can provide a child like Faith with a place to stay where their needs come first. Your gift will be the start of care, connection and safety for a child who has suffered abuse and neglect at home.
