Saying thanks and praying for more

Updated: Feb 5, 2022

We wrapped up our 50 Stories for 50 Years of Ministry series earlier this week, and now we wrap up our 50th year of ministry here on New Year’s Eve with a prayer from our President & CEO, Kevin Hewitt. Thank you for following this series, and even more than that, thank you for helping to make 50 incredible years of ministry possible!

It is with humble and grateful hearts that we approach You and express our thanks for the first 50 years of ministry at Christian Children’s Home of Ohio and our family of ministries. We are grateful for so much – for your grace, mercy, faithfulness, protection, provision and love. We are grateful for the army of staff, donors, volunteers and churches that You have used to be Your hands and feet. We are grateful for the children, families, women and men You have allowed us to serve, to walk alongside through their tough times and to give hope. We are grateful and as we now look forward to the next 50 years, here is our heart.

We ask, Lord, that Your presence always graces us, that our words and actions reflect Your heart for people. We ask that You give us eyes to see the hurting and the broken, to see people as You do. May we be a reflection of You to a world that needs You, Jesus. May You give us the opportunity to reach even more people for You in the coming decades. May we be a place where staff are able to grow into the best version of themselves for You. May we always fight for the highest good of those we serve, both internally and externally. May we be a place where those who support us know and see the impact their resources are making on Your Kingdom. May we be a place where healing is found and celebrated. May we be a place where anyone who interacts with us, is left with a desire to know more about you, Jesus!

We ask, Lord, that You bring the staff, foster parents, volunteers and donors that will allow Your desires to be fulfilled at CCHO and our family of ministries. We ask that You open doors that we could never even dream of opening, to help more people experience their worth in You.

May we be found faithful, and may our lives reflect the worth placed on us by Your empty tomb.

In Jesus Name, Amen
