Thank you from Katie (Story 44 of 50)

Updated: Feb 5, 2022

CCHO is celebrating 50 years of ministry! Throughout 2019, we will be sharing stories of the lives that have been forever changed by the work God has done through our family of ministries (CCHO, Encourage Foster Care and Encompass Christian Counseling). Of course, we are tremendously thankful for the incredible support shown to our family of ministries over five decades. This Thanksgiving, though, we wanted to let a former resident say “Thank You” in her own sweet words. Story #44 in our 50 Stories for 50 Years of Ministry will surely bring a smile to your face.

For most of her short life, Katie bounced between two different beds in two different states. She stayed with her parents until the drugs and alcohol got out of hand and the situation became unsafe for her, then she’d move in with Grandma and Grandpa. Sadly, the pain Katie experienced made it nearly impossible for her grandparents to properly care for her, and she would move back in with her mom and dad. Katie needed to feel safe. She needed to feel loved. Thanks to donors like you, Katie found the support, therapy and love she needed at CCHO. She was baptized during her time at CCHO, and today she lives with a new foster family. Katie wanted to say “thank you” for all you’ve done for her!
