We are honored to introduce our June 2026 Difference Maker, Robert Hall & Lady Bautista!

This month we celebrate two remarkable people whose hearts, histories, and commitment to giving have made a real difference on our campus.
Their stories begin miles apart—from the Philippines to Canton, Ohio—but converge around a shared belief: your past doesn’t have to define your future. And for them, supporting CCHO is a powerful way to help kids discover that same truth.
Lady’s Story:
Lady grew up in deep poverty in the Philippines. Her childhood was marked by instability, fear, and the constant struggle of not having enough. At a young age, she made a promise to herself: when she found stability someday, she would give generously to children experiencing the kind of hardship she once knew.
Her path eventually led her to the United States 25 years ago, where she pursued a career in physical therapy—not just for opportunity, but to create a future where she could give back.
“I know what it feels like to have nothing,” Lady shared. “That’s why helping kids means so much to me. My story can be a roadmap for someone else.”
Robert’s Story:
Robert grew up in a rough, blue-collar environment in Canton, Ohio. Life could easily have pulled him down a destructive path, but he was determined not to become a product of his surroundings. He worked his way up, eventually building a successful financial company—and with it, the ability to pour into causes close to his heart.
“I learned everything from the ground up,” Robert said. “Now I want to give back and help kids see that they have a future too.”

Finding CCHO:
When the two began dating, Lady was moving to Ohio and searching for a ministry that matched their values. Both felt strongly about giving to a place that reflected their stories—places where children, like them, were fighting to rise above difficult beginnings.
“We both came from environments we didn’t want to be defined by,” Lady said. “When we found CCHO, it felt like the perfect place to pour into kids who need hope and support.”
Robert and Lady’s involvement began with a simple request: CCHO needed gifts for the children. Their response? Tablets for every child—arriving in two SUVs full of gift baskets.
“The kids lost their minds,” Robert laughed. “It was incredible to see their faces.”

Since then, their generosity has continued in many ways including back-to-schools shopping trips with the kids, helping fund a food truck to bless staff and residents, attending campus events and generous financial gifts.
However, they share that what has impacted them the most is hearing directly from the youth—kids expressing gratitude to be in a safe place, kids dreaming of becoming future counselors at CCHO, kids finally seeing a path forward.
“Hearing them say they’re thankful to be here… that was powerful,” Robert shared. “It showed us what a difference this place makes.”
Why Children’s Ministry Matters So Much to Them
For Lady, supporting CCHO is deeply personal. She still remembers police raids at her childhood home, her father in and out of jail, and the feeling of having no support system.
“If we were able to succeed without support,” she said, “imagine what these kids can do with it.”
Robert echoes that passion, especially around mentoring: “Kids bounce back. They’re moldable. If we can help them now, they can grow up and go down the right path.”
Their Message to Future Donors and Volunteers
When asked what they would tell someone who’s considering getting involved, Lady didn’t hesitate:
“It’s priceless. The smiles, the gratitude, the chance to serve—it’s worth everything.”
Robert added an important reminder: “Yes, some funding comes from the government, but it doesn’t cover everything. This place continues because people donate, volunteer, and care. The more people we can get involved, the more kids we can impact.”
For them, giving is also about inspiring others to do the same:
“If our story helps someone else step up and support this ministry, that’s a win.”
Thank You, Robert and Lady
