    Summer joy!

Our residential program team loves investing in the lives of children all year round, but summer show off hours of planning and preparation in previous months. We are grateful for all the creative ways they help hurting youth build connections and just have fun. The summer is filled with numerous programs like the annual canoe trip cruising down the scenic Tuscarawas River in Canal Fulton. You’ll also find residents and staff engrossed in team building on the CCHO ropes cours

    A new summer tradition

Summer is filled with special moments for CCHO kids and staff. Longer days and more time outside of the classroom offer opportunities for special events and unique connections. Today’s blog post comes from CCHO Advancement Coordinator Jenny Myers. She’s always had a soft spot for in her heart for children who’ve come from abuse and neglect. Here is her story of investing in the lives of our kids. Last summer, I felt prompted to do something more for our kids. In looking for a

    Trauma therapy goes outdoors

The summer months are a great time for our art and trauma therapy program to try different ventures with our youth. The boys have really enjoyed gardening and the outdoor wo

A salute to Sons of God Motorcycle Club

For the past several years, summer at CCHO also means a visit from the Sons of God Motorcycle Club. This compassionate organization plans kid-friendly activities and makes a special donation so hurting kids enjoy a fun day and experience their worth. Because of COVID-19, the difficult decision was made to keep everyone safe by not gathering this year. This blog post, written by CCHO staffer Lauren Steiner who coordinates the event, is a salute to their amazing volunteer work.

Water-balloon fights Doing tie-dye art projects Baseball Ice cream Celebrating my birthday! A break from school Being outside (minus the bees!) Does this list look similar to your own? Thankful

    Celebrate summer

The CCHO pool is open for the summer and our residential kids are thrilled to enjoy this warm-weather activity on a regular basis. With limited off-campus opportunities due to COVID-19, the pool is even more special this year. It’s a great opportunity for our kids to be social together and learn new skills. Special thanks to our pool renovation team from last fall. Because of you, life is definitely cool in the pool! Summer is a fun time on our Wooster campus. There’s much th
